More Phishiness

>> Thursday, November 22, 2007

I told you the other day about a phishing email I got - supposedly from Regions Bank.

Well, I got another one today regarding an "important notification about myAmazon.com account". Apparently:

We recently noticed one or more attempts to log in to your account from a foreign IP address. If you accessed your account while travelling, the unusual login attempts may have been initiated by you. However, if you did not initiate the logins, please visit Amazon.com Inc. as soon as possible to verify your identity.

This is a security measure that will ensure that you are the only person who can access your Amazon account. Thank you for your patience as we work together to protect your account.

To get started, please click the link below and login to your account:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/yourstore/ref=pd_irl_gw/ie=UTF8&signIn=1

Best Regards,
Amazon.com Inc. Security Center

Funnily enough, the email address was not Amazon, but instead this: Amazon.com [lvvtgf@yahoo.co.uk]. Yep, 'cuz Amazon is gonna use a Yahoo address...

Just a heads up to all of you. Things can get busy during the holidays and if you buy online like I do emails like these might just freak you out. Trust your junkmail filter and be sure to use your spyware and virus protection.

Happy shopping!

I got one saying that Paypal had charged my account $374 for a camera and if I didn't authorize it to...click here. Not falling for that one! I sent it on to the Paypal spoof addy!
