Here's Some Good Advice

>> Sunday, November 09, 2008

I was over at Dave's website and saw his scripture of the day from last Thursday.

Romans 12:2 - Don't copy the behavior and customs of the world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

Wow. That's a pretty bold statement, don't you think?

We've been following Dave's plan of dropping debt and living like no one else since early last summer. We've dropped about $10,000 in debt since then and have changed our spending habits quite a bit (not to say that we couldn't do more, we could. I just have to figure out what.)

We quite living the "gotta have it now" life and are on a "spend only what you can afford" plan. It has altered a lot, especially with the girls. We have no cable TV, therefore my girls see no commercials. They have no idea what they are "missing". I hear so many parents talk about how bad the advertising towards kids is; I guess I am happily clueless.

That's only one example. Have you made any big changes that aren't part of the "behavior and customs of the world"?
