A Nasty Exchange

The following is a chain of emails that was sent out by Iowans For Romney.

The first part you will see is my reply, followed by a very unprofessional exchange done in the name of Governor Romney. I would suggest beginning at the end and reading back to my comment. If this is something the Governor condones I must say that he is not the candidate I thought he was.

I actually emailed the Romney campaign- twice- with this information but received emails both times saying that my message did not come through. Maybe I'll just send them this link...

I find it quite tacky that this exchange of emails was sent out to whomever happens to be on the Iowans For Romney email list. If Team Romney is looking to make Ms. Schmieder look bad I am afraid it may backfire. I would hope that a group that states that everyone deserves equal rights and benefits would also believe that Ms. Schmieder has the right to disagree and not watch the video. For you to berate her for disagreeing – and to share it like you have – well, I’ll just say that I’m very disappointed.

Team Romney is very disappointed in your comments. Gov. Romney has consistently believed that homosexuals should be embraced into the Republican Party and deserve EQUAL RIGHTS AND BENEFITS. We are thrilled with our endorsement of the Log Cabin Republicans, and over 25,000 Republican voters have tuned into YouTube to watch the endorsement video and you should too.

As you know the Homosexual Gay and Lesbian Log Cabin Republicans also endorsed Romney in 2002.

Governor Romney has also even handed out flyers at Homosexual Parades when he ran for Governor of Massachusetts, and I have a copy below for you to see.

We must grow our party and homosexuals MUST be included!

We are NOT interested in celebrating a life style we do not condone. While they certainly have a right to their choice of sexual orientation, we have a right to be separate from that. We are sorry that your welcoming something that goes against the beliefs of many.
Do NOT cosider us as supporters of Gov Romney. And we choose not to use the provided link to watch the "endorsement".
