I had this comment waiting for me in my comments about McCain choosing Palin as his VP and I just had to share it. Basically because this is the substance of so many liberal arguments.
Of course you know I will not agree with you since Im for the people and democratic. When it come to John and Cindy McCain and Palin, gag me, and lets go shopping for another house or another jet while American families starve and have no jobs. Yahhhhh sounds fabulous. And lets destroy our Alaskan wilderness so we can save money on gas...hahhaha sounds fun. And lets not worry about the animals that contribute to our ecosytem as their slowly dying of starvation...sounds like a winner to me. And lets put laws on women's bodies so that we look "right" in the eyes of the Catholic church. That's all I have to say about that.

Seeker- while I will not berate you for your improper use of English I will pick on you for your invalid and weak arguements.
"For the people" means democrat? Really? Last I knew "for the people" meant freedoms and rights. Unless, of course, your version of "for the people" means "take from those who work and give to those who don't". I've been so poor that peanut butter and Ramen noodles were the only foods we had to eat. My husband and I have worked hard over our lives to have what we have. We sacrificed much. If we can do it, anyone can. Neither of us were privledged; I lived with my mom and three siblings in a one bedroom house. My mom worked three jobs. So don't tell me about American families starving. I've been there. With hard work and determination you can get out of it. Unfortunately too many people feel like they are owed...
As for homes... Quick- tell me all the homes your spouse's family owns. Because that's what you expect John McCain to do. Those aren't his homes... Those are homes owned and purchased by his wife's family that are in a trust that she just happens to oversee. Quit worshiping at the alter of Obama and do your research.
As for jets, Palin sold the jet the previous governor purchased. And I believe your candidate bought a bigger one not long ago ... So maybe you should take that up with him...
Now, about the Alaskan wilderness. Do you know how big ANWR is? Are you aware that where drilling would occur there is not even a tree within 700 miles? Here's a bit of info to help you with this research.

Because for every article or scientist that says they are declining I can show you one that says they are increasing in number. Like this one: Professor J. In fact, the polar bear populations have been increasing rapidly in recent decades due to hunting restrictions. Maybe you mean the bats that are being killed by wind turbines? Because I agree that is a problem. Bats eat mosquitos and we have way too many mosquitos this year...
I'm pretty sure you don't mean deer... Or bobcats... Or prairie chickens... In fact, many cities and states are having trouble controling their animal populations...
Now, I'm not against alternative energy. But I'm not willing to pay insane amounts to drive my car or heat my home until that technology is developed. Drill now, work on alternative methods now. One day we won't be dependent on oil. Great. But now we are and the people (who you claim to be "for") can't afford to pay $4, $5, $6 per gallon for gas. Nor can they afford to fund government programs to develop new technologies. It's not an all or nothing proposition- but there must be give and take.
As for laws on women's bodies... It has nothing to do with the Catholic church... It has to do with right and wrong. If abortion is ok please tell me why, if you kill a pregnant woman, you are charged with two counts of murder? Because you are killing two people. Pretty straight forward... It's murder. Abortion kills babies. Abortion is murder. Pretty black and white...
You are always welcome to voice your opinion here, but, please, come armed with some facts. Otherwise you just appear foolish.

Come on, Jody. We all want change. Change is good. Change, change, change, change...and then I'm gonna change some more. Because I'm all about change.
We all want change in the government. What is Obama going to change, besides the percentage of taxes I pay to the government (in an upward motion)? Someone in the Obama camp, please tell me how this is going to help the people? The poor, the needy, those who are RIGHT NOW struggling to make ends meet? How is increasing taxes on things like gasoline going to help these people? How will it improve their lives? It will continue to raise the prices they pay for food, clothing, and other necessities. That's a change. Do you think they'll like your version of CHANGE once they actually see what it involves?
How will creating another money-sucking government run department really improve the health care issues this country faces? Nothing in the government is streamlined or efficient or without some level of corruption.
Maybe Obama should spend some time developing real plans and quit relying on the word CHANGE. It's a hollow promise...and I hope people see that before election time.
Actually, the change was 4 years ago when we elected a democratic congress to represent us. Our so-called representatives are hemorraging money that has to be borrowed from "friendly countries" (China).
I don't see Ted Kennedy or Obama giving anything up while telling the public that we need to sacrifice for those who have less.
Our government entitlement programs promote dependency and expect the government to provide everything. And those who don't want to work, will cry foul if they don't get their share.
Don't get me wrong - I have no problem helping the disabled and children. I do have a problem with those who can work but don't for whatever reason. Most disabled people have something they can give back, maybe as a monitor in a playground, reading to kids in a library, rocking babies in a cancer ward if Mom and Dad can't be there all the time - volumes of volunteer activities that makes them valuable, but I don't see that happening.
I install credit/debit processing equipment. On a daily basis, I see individuals counting nickels, dimes and quarters for cigarettes and booze, then turn around and buy junk food with a food debit card. Some of these are kids who could be working.
I propose that people read the constitution. It does not guarantee anything except life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness. The rest is up to the individual.

Yeah, and what exactly is "old man rivers" going to do for you? McCain is the same old same old that has been in office for the last eight years, but I guess if your going to defend the "republican" side, then tell me exactly what BUSH has done for our Nation? Whoever said life was fair. Yeah its not fair that theres a single mother with five kids using your tax dollars to survive, but what about the mother that is working two jobs and just can't make ends meet, who's also paying taxes who's using your tax dollars to survive? What would you have said to your mother had she used tax dollars to survive when you were growing up? Would you berate her as you do others? It's not as cut and dry as you think, but do we throw the whole basket of apples in the trash because one is rotten? I don't need to ambush you with "facts" because I am a free thinker so yeah I haven't studied up on all the points I would need to win against you in an argument, but I do know that change is important, and Obama is offering it, and McCain is offering....what? More tax breaks for the richest 5% of our nation, more money on a war that I sure as hell did not advocate? What is he going to do for this nation that is so great. Im not a person who listens to other people when they say "you should vote for such and such" until I know what each party stands for, so tell me why I should vote McCain over Obama. Its amazing how unfeeling your response is.

I'm well aware of working three jobs while raising my children, getting a 4 year degree in 4 years and working myself out of poverty and how rough it is. Yes, I got some help but I worked myself out of it as soon as possible and now my WEEKLY tax bite is about $400. It is a sad commentary that most people are willing to accept an entitlement then complain that it is not enough instead of getting an education or finding a way to get out of the system, and even sadder that the system perpetuates itself by telling people who want to better themselves that they don't want to get a better or another job "or you will loose your benefits."
There are a lot of people who are too busy whining about how unfair life is instead of working their way out of it.
Change is good; unfortunately, the change that is needed is not more government - it is change back to personal responsibility and initiative and not a socialist society.
The 5% of wealthy who do not pay "their share" of taxes are going to still have the same loopholes. It is not that 5% who will suffer, it is those who are paying the bulk of the taxes now. Government spending needs to be cut dramatically and our politicians need to be given a strong message that they are NOT representing the people but their instead acting on their own greed.
The fact that you think Im making a personal attack is ludacris, because last time I checked it was a free country. If you only welcome people who think like you to respond to a blog, then I guess I can see more of where youre at in your line of thinking. I was simply making the statement that I would rather have a "couple" like the Obama's making decisions for me than I would the McCains, and my last comment was meant to clearly state the interactions between the two couples, since I'm not up on the facts of their daily lives per say. I apoligize if you have been insulted by my statements. Like many Americans, I too have had it rough, and I too have worked very hard to get myself where Im at, so don't lump me in the same catagory as those who are not giving 100% or even 50% just because I choose the democratic side. The fact of the matter is is we all need to look out for each other, and I don't feel that the last decade has been about that, and I certainly hope that the next decade isn't either. When is the last time you voluteered to read a book to a child that was left behind, how about teaching a young single mother some parenting skills? Anyone? Bush? Anyone? This is what its going to take to make America what it SHOULD BE. Everyone being for everyone, and encouraging each other to be better. Lastly, who decided without my consent to invade a country and spend 300 billion a day? Talk about a waste of tax dollars?
My last comment on this blog is this: Maybe Palin should stay home and take responsibility for her 17 year old daughter getting pregnant out of wedlock. Luckily her mother and father have alot of money because she "cant depend on welfare" and she can't have an abortion, that is if the republicans have their way. Now THAT is a personal attack.
