Find Iowa in the map below.
OK, I'll give you a hint: it's right in the center covered by the swath of dark purple. The dark purple signifies a "Severe Storm Warning".
Here's our weather outlook for the next 2 1/2 days:
Today: cloudy. A chance of sleet in the morning. A chance of snow in the morning, then snow in the afternoon. Snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. High in the lower 30s. Temperature steady or slowly falling in the afternoon. North wind 10 to 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.
Tonight: snow and isolated thunderstorms in the evening, then snow after midnight. Areas of blowing snow through the night. Colder. Snow accumulation of 5 to 7 inches. Total snow accumulation 6 to 9 inches. Low 15 to 20. North wind 15 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
Wednesday: areas of blowing snow in the morning. Cloudy with a 50 percent chance of snow in the morning, then partly sunny in the afternoon. High in the mid 20s. Northwest wind 10 to 20 mph.
Wednesday Night: partly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of snow after midnight. Low around 15. West wind 5 to 10 mph shifting to the southwest after midnight.
Thursday: mostly cloudy. A chance of snow in the morning, then a slight chance of snow in the afternoon. High in the upper 20s. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 30 percent.
I'd take some of that global warming about now...
