I Love Me a Guy in Tights

We love a good Renaissance Faire. Every year we travel to Shakopee, Minnesota for the Minnesota Ren Fest. Just last year a permanent Renaissance Park was built on Des Moines’ east side. We’ve even been known to head over to Bristol, Wisconsin at the drop of a Cavalier Hat to check out what their Fest had to offer.

Of course we dress in our finest Elizabethan clothing for these events. Some items I have made (in the old-fashioned way: with a sewing machine) and others have been purchased. Doug’s outfit, especially, as it involves tall leather boots, the afore mentioned hat and weaponry.

There’s just something about the Age of Chivalry that sets my heart a-flutter. Well, that and the guys in tights and kilts…
