Democrats in the US House have started their vacation, but Republicans stay to slam Pelosi and company for not voting on drilling.

The comment in Link2, third one down is dead on - "Fly McCain in NOW!" If McCain were smart, he would be doing Mach 3 to DC right now. Even though he is in the Senate (not the House), this is the perfect way to highlight a major policy item. Link3 indicates that several Republican members are returning and going right on in - not bothering to change into suit and tie.

Will it make a difference? Who knows, but it IS definitely restoring my respect for Representatives from my Party in the House.

Call or email your Congress Critter and let them know you want a vote on drilling! Do it now...do not pass GO or start the grill this weekend without doing this first.

Start here and click on your state. Find your representative and search their page for a "Contact" link or button. There you go - now do it.


Just as a comparison, here is what Democratic leadership in the House want.



Exxon paid over $32 billion in taxes in the last 3 months. They only reported $11 billion in profit. I think this lucrative cash-cow (for the government) is the real reason legislators try to block real innovation.
