Such Big News

>> Monday, February 02, 2009

I've mentioned it over at Facebook and Twitter... But if you don't keep up with me there this may be news to you...

No, before you guess, we are not having another baby.

We are relocating. To Boston. For about 2 months.

Doug is looking at rentals this week. All with views of the Atlantic. Our plans are to drive there and back. We looked into Amtrak but it's so inconvenient- no stations in Iowa have baggage check in! And flying would be wonderful but then we would have to ship quite a bit of stuff, which is expensive. So we are driving.

From central Iowa to Boston.

It's a big adventure! So... What should we see on the way? Any of my bloggy friends anywhere near our path of travel?

Oh, and we plan to leave next week! SO much to do!!!

Holy Smokes! That is what I get for not being online most of the weekend. How in the world did I miss that one.

How exciting and how nerve wracking at the same time. What happend to bring this on? What are you doing with your house? So many questions!

I am happy for you, Boston is wonderful. So gorgeous. Think of all the Irish culture right at your finger tips!!

Cool! Looooong drive!

Assuming you'll be taking the NY State Thruway, you'll be driving right by me! If you're up for a visit to the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, let me know & we'll meet you there & show you around! It's awesome.

And of course you'll be in the vicinity of Niagara Falls when you pass by Buffalo...

How am I going to get by for 2 months without my girls? I may have to come to Boston for St Patricks!

why are you not one of my facebook friends??? Crazy news! But, I'm so glad you don't have to be apart from each other. can't wait to hear about your adventures in Boston...I'm so jealous!! I LOVE that part of the country. There are AWESOME outlets just north of Boston in New Hampshire.

Wow, 2 months in Boston sounds like fun! There is so much to see and do there. Wanna trade for 18 months in Oklahoma City???

Holy Crap that's going to be one heck of a long drive. I drove there (Well Plymouth) and it took me 10 hours! If you're close to this area you must stop and see me!

Anyways... Plymouth is very nice and it's not that far from Boston. Cape Cod isn't that far either, so you must go down that way for a day!

I'd love to go back that way and actually go to Boston!

I don't know exactly which way you are going but I think Niagra Falls wouldn't be too far off the beaten path.

okay, a little too suprising for me when I read your blog just now from the top down to here. I guess I miss news like this when I try to devote more of my free time to adoption stuff than reading friends' blogs. Shocking really but what a great deal and of course an opportunity that I'd take advantage of as well. What about schooling? Are you going to homeschool for two months?

Wow! I am so behind on my blog reading and look what I missed...enjoy your short relocation. I know you'll make the most of the new area and soak up all you can!
