Honestly, can the IRS be any more A) confusing B) un-helpful C) unknowing of their jobs?
I called the IRS to get an EIN number. The first person I spoke to, although she could "give me no advice" was giving me advice and wouldn't let me name the "entity" what I wanted to name it and transferred me.
The second person I spoke to said that I should be able to name it whatever I wanted to and transferred me again to technical support.
The tech guy- who was rude- said that he didn't handle my problem and has transferred me again.
So now I am waiting... waiting... waiting...
Hey, the fourth person I spoke to told me that I can do this online and get the number immediately. Now why didn't anyone else bother to tell me that?
I hope I do this right....
