I do hope he is a great president and gets lots of "good things" accomplished. But, like you stated, he is but one man.Jackie B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16125065614086555496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067962.post-78775234050368908432009-01-24T06:04:00.000-06:002009-01-24T06:04:00.000-06:00Great post Jody--mind if I link it?Great post Jody--mind if I link it?lilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15573977277141554746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8067962.post-87070132284251109672009-01-22T23:02:00.000-06:002009-01-22T23:02:00.000-06:00you hit the nail right on the head, so eloquently ...you hit the nail right on the head, so eloquently too! All day Tuesday I just felt, well, unnerved. I am glad that we finally reached this race milestone, but the worship and the blind giddiness has been really bothering me. The insinuations (or declarations by some very misled people) that our president is the Messiah who has come back to save us all is frightening and just sad. I agree that the people who are claiming to be his biggest fans are just setting him up for failure, although I don't think they'd ever really admit it when he did disappoint them... I'm afraid the country has just lost all rational thought and is in this "puppy love" phase where it's all hearts and unicorns and we aren't able to see things as they really are or evaluate what is REALLY best in the long run for our children. People are saying that he is who they've been waiting for and are saying, "FINALLY! We're saved!" but the truth is that the One who can REALLY save our country (and all of our souls) has been with them ALL ALONG. They just choose to not see Him. Thanks for the great post (although I'm sure you'll get your share of naysayers)! I'm with ya, girl!Paula Reecehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08203454641132883751noreply@blogger.com
